If you'd like extra material (notes, review) for Grade 7, 8 or 9 science (beyond what is given in class), the Edquest website has resources that pertain to the Science Focus textbook that we use in class.
Students must consult with the teacher the day that they receive their test mark if they wish to re-write. Test re-writes will be only be given for situations deemed deserving of a re-write by the teacher. All re-writes will be on students' own time (lunch recess). Once a student has been deemed eligible for a re-write the student must:
1. Make a study guide of their own (can't just be the notes they have from class) on their own time (i.e. at home or at lunch recess)
2. Go through their study guide with the teacher at least one day before the re-write. They must do this on their own time (i.e. lunch recess). If they do not go through their study guide with the teacher atleast one day before the re-write, they will no longer be elligible for the re-write. If extenuating circumstances prohibit them from coming in at least one day before the re-write to go through their study guide with the teacher, an explanation of the circumstances prohibiting them from following the aforementioned procedure must be expressed in writing to the teacher as soon as the student returns to school in order for them to be allowed an extension of the re-write deadline. Missing the re-write for extra-curricular activities is not a valid excuse for missing a re-write.
No tests shall be made available for viewing or handed back until after the re-writes are marked. Once the tests are made available for viewing or handed back, there will be no more re-writes.
